Color Variants for turtles

I feel as if turtles should have a secondary black/grey leatherback sea turtle color variant and a blue/brown/red shell one as well just to give it some variety.Also make it so that (depending on parent colors) the majority will be split or one color with 15 percent chance of random mutation.This could double as a reason to make turtle shells dyeable as well for some creativity and each (dyed) color would produce a interesting pattern (item not dyeable only the specific mob).

    I am trying to make different color variants of turtles for my resource pack but the color variants I made didn't show up when I spawned the turtles
