Right now, motion controllers for Windows Mixed Reality and Oculus don't have the key mapping functionality that is present for keyboards and regular controllers, and would be a great quality-of-life addition (holding the right analog stick clicked-down on WMR to continuously sneak can get tiring).
With this addition, the chat button should be added to one of the VR key bindings, as the chat is currently only accessible for motion controller users when sleeping in a bed (the "open chat" button appears), or by walking over to your PC and using your physical keyboard (but that breaks the immersion).
I'm not sure if Oculus provides a VR keyboard like WMR does, but typing in VR for signs and in chat (accessed via bed chat button or physical keyboard) already works for motion controllers. It just needs to be accessible.
One of Bedrock VR's biggest advantages over Java's VR mod is the ability to play on multiplayer servers and realms natively, but this experience is held back by the chat function not being properly accessible when using motion controllers.
