Lets call it breadstone(not the actual suggested name just something to make life easier).
Now hear me out I know this would result in instant redstone but I have a solution which would add an entirely new layer to redstone. My suggestion is to split the redstone signal into two variables: signal strength and signal power.
Signal power always starts at 15 whether it comes from a comparator or a repeater. And in both redstone and breadstone the power lowers by one per step. Once it hits zero the signal strength is also set to zero. This is to keep the signal limit.
Signal strength works almost the same way however a comparator keeps this signal instead of resetting it to 15 and in breadstone it keeps the same signal strength over its entire length.
redstone and breadstone can also be combined and connected like normal redstone allowing you to lower signal strength in one place and keep it in another.
You could even add a gate which extracts either the signal power or the difference between signal power and signal strength or even just swaps the two and outputs the swapped signal for extra depth.
The cool thing about this addition is not only does it add an entirely new layer to redstone it also theoretically wont break any previous redstone contraptions.
Thanks for reading and I hope you got some inspiration.
