[Bedrock] Original Chat for Windows

Opening a window when you press T/Return that covers the whole screen with the option bar at the top, and the opaque black background for that on windows is terrible.

 

It ruins the immersion of the game, allow us to choose to have chat like the chat from a few versions ago or the same as Java, we only need the text input at bottom and that's it, we don't need a whole full screen chat window.

 

Also, when you press ENTER to send the message, you then have to press ESC to leave the chat menu and get back into the game, further ruining the immersion. It should automatically close the chat when you send a message.

    I agree! Possibly the implementation of a dropdown menu like that which can be found in the video settings for UI Profile where you can choose between 'Classic' and 'Pocket' or even an option similar to the 'GUI scale modifier' but for the chat window in-game would allow for a far smoother experience.

    Oh yeah, also if you're a fast typer (like me) then sometimes you are typing whilst the animation is playing to open the chat window which either: cuts off the first part of a word, or the chat doesn't even record what you're typing.

    Yes, I agree much with this post, the animation is the most annoying thing ever.

    It’s so annoying. I liked the java chat better. Bedrock chat is in the way.
