I think we need a video capture feature, with a command based (or scripting based) playback option. It should be a menu toggle to bring up an on-screen record button, that way you can keep it out of the way normally and not accidentally start recording. When triggered, it would reference a file much like the playsound command, maybe playvideo or playclip, and go into a cut-scene.
Recording would start when you push the button, then you could fly for panning shots or be staying still for mechanical animations, and stop the recording when you wish. You'd then be given a field to name your video clip for referencing, and it would save to your world folder.
This would be an excellent tool for game makers, as the scope of many builds is lost by having to play the game from the ground. It would also allow you to show actions occurring from various switches and triggers that you couldn't necessarily see happening otherwise, such as a door in another area opening, or a chest being revealed in another room.
