When you save a Ghast from the Nether and you send it to the Overworld, if a lightning strikes the Ghast during a thunderstorm, it turn friendly towards all players in general. When the Ghast turns friendly it will "scream" -the ghast sound effect that is still unused in the game.
A friendly Ghast has a slightly different texture: The gray lines will have a bluish tint and the face will have a kitten "smile" on it.
At this point any player will be able to equip the Ghast with a basket and use the Ghast as a hot air baloon. The basket will hold the player and will act like a movable item storage. The Ghast will hold the basket with it's umm... dangling bits... I don't know what those things under a Ghast are...
The Ghast on it's own will not turn agressive towards most hostile mobs unless they accidentally attack it. (Like a dumb Skeleton shooting the Ghast).
The Ghast holding a player will turn agressive towards most entities that attack that player, including other players.
To make it look better and with more colours (just like the real-life baloons) you can decorate your Ghast air baloons by giving it a banner (the patterns on the banner will appear bigger and more stylized on the Ghast).
