The Nether Well

Within the Nether Fortress, there is a small well with a single source block of lava surrounded by Nether bricks. As a kid, I always thought it was a Magma Cube spawner, not just a well that provides lava. Later on, I found that no Magma Cubes spawned here and that it's just for lava, you know because there isn't enough lava around. I thought that maybe there could be a Magma Cube Spawner concealed a few blocks below the well, providing more purpose for this room. This would also be more convenient for everyone, as magma cream is a luxury that is hard to come by.
