In-Book Formatting for Minecraft 1.14

It would be nice for Mojang to bring back formatting while editing a book. I used to be able to paste in §, type l, and then write in bold and I could SEE the bold as I typed. Is that something that was just removed temporarily? I would really, really prefer seeing the result of the formatting WHILE editing a book.

Editing a book by typing some JSON code and hoping for the best... is not ideal. Seeing how bold text affects the word-wrapping in real time is.

...Right?
