Breaking Animation & Tools

Using an inappropriate tool to break a block shows a red breaking animation

The breaking animation will be red if:

  • You use the wrong tool, like an axe to break dirt.
  • You wrong a tool that's too low-tier, like a stone pickaxe to break gold ore.
  • You're breaking an ender chest without silk touch.
