Village pilgrimage to temples

So I was thinking that it would be really cool villagers would sometimes make long journeys to the closest temple (jungle or desert). It would give them more character to go with village and pillage, and add a cool feature to temples. They would travel in groups with llamas or horses depending on the village they're from and stay in the temple for a few days before heading home. This would work similar to how wandering traders work.

  They would die too easily, and while I like this idea, I don't like all my villagers dying.

  They could bring tons of iron golems with them and beds too.

  I think that it should only be the clerics that do this, and they should be able to drink an invisibility potion like a wandering trader.
