Customizable day/night cycle

It would be fun if there were commands to speed up, slow down, and reverse the day/night cycle.

    You can already do it like this.

    Place a command block. Make it repeating.

    type this in.

    /time add (a number)

    There should be an option to set the amount of time a day lasts in a world in the game settings for individual worlds.    The option should be very customizable so you can set any amount of time a day lasts in a world.

    I completely agree with this! I've been playing a lot of Minecraft lately, and sometimes I feel like it'd be really nice to change the daylight cycle to be 40 minutes, rather than 20.

    Sure, you can use a Command Block, but that's a bit obnoxious, and not very friendly towards less technical players. (and frankly, I just don't want to have any Command Blocks in my Survival Worlds :p )

    We need this because lately it feels like the day/night cycle has been shortened. I wish I could have long days or if I'm in the mood to fight some monsters long nights.

    Completely agree, I would make this a gamerule.

    I find it super annoying to have to go to my bed to sleep every 10 minutes as I'm working on a build.

    Someone mentioned using a command block, but no, if you use a command block it ends up causing the skybox to stutter. I've had mods that alter the time speed have the same issue as well. It's far from perfect as is.

    also add an option to increase the set default time it takes.
    like if a normal Minecraft day is 10 minutes and night is 10 minutes, then make an option to do 30 minutes per day and 30 minutes per night so in irl time a full day night cycle is 60 minutes of or an hour irl.
    but everyone said this so also add the option to do something like a 5 minute day and 15 minute night so it can be weirdly unbalanced for challenges for fun
