What is parity? This category is designed just for features that exist but work one way on one platform, and another way on a different platform. Bugs are not parity! Items in snapshots and betas are subject to change so please be sure to only post about things that are currently released in Minecraft. Please read the intro post before you post!

It is also the other way around like iron golem spawn rates and some other villigar stuff like OP trading.

On java, locator maps are the only option. This is a little expensive and occasionally frustrating in the event that a player icon gets stuck on one. (although I acknowledge that bug is increasingly rare)

Plain paper maps circumvent this, and provide a little more incentive to use maps and explore in the early game. Being able to add a compass to a plain map via a cartography table (as in bedrock edition) would provide more uses for that cartography table.

Locator maps provide an edge when navigating, but plain maps allow for a different and equally enjoyable experience. Navigating by a non-locator-map encourages the player to get familiar with landmarks, and use other tools like the sky or sunflowers to orient themselves, much like real world orienteering.

At time of writing, compass functionality is being updated via the lodestone block, and it seems like a natural moment to integrate compasses into the cartography table for the sake of version parity and for the enjoyment of budding cartographers and orienteers everywhere!

Sorry, but as a bedrock player, it is more frustrating about all the features Java had but bedrock doesn't (which is much more btw).
Both should be solved and both are unfair.

Look at the Parity parts, does it say bedrock parity for most things, or does it say java? bedrock has it worse

LOL, you are saying on Java it is “unfair” because you are missing stuff, on Java you have about 1000 features that bedrock doesn’t have and bedrock have about 10 features Java doesn’t have. These features that bedrock doesn’t have but Java has include, op farms, switching game versions, good servers, going under slabs, better update snapshots, axes do more damage, axes break shields, swords attack multiple things, fireworks explode on impact, building on the nether roof, when you hit a shield you don’t get 100 blocks of knock back, better trades, more seeds, complete end portals that are close to spawn, spectator mode, hardcore mode, giants, illusioners, spectral arrows, and so much more. Here are some features that are in bedrock but not in Java, tipped arrows can be made with a cauldron, blocks can be placed in front of you, trash farms, you have to shift to block a shield, I can’t think of anymore, so do you still think Java edition is unfair?

Why don't you switch to Bedrock?  Java has no features at all that bedrock doesn't.  Bedrock players have to keep dealing with not being able to crawl, not having hardcore or spectator mode, and not being able to change versions.  Go ahead, switch to bedrock because you're complaining about a literal map.

I love how the creator of this post just decided to ignore all the comments.  They're ignoring the comments because the comments actually make a good point.
