The Nether has been needing a new threat other than Ghasts, Wither Skeletons, and Magma Cubes for a while now. With only 3 hostile mobs, compared to the dozens in the Overworld, the Nether is far too peaceful, especially within the lower levels, where Ghasts and sometimes blazes are blocked by overhanging terrain. A new mob, known as the Molten Fisherman, should be added to make the Nether more hostile in these lower levels, and to bring more character into it.
The Molten Fisherman only spawns within the Lava ocean at the lower levels of the nether, it is a rare mob, spawning about as commonly as magma cubes. It's appearance is that of a skeletal shark, larger than a dolphin. It has an extendable jaw, much like that of certain deep sea creatures. Its bones glow red, filled with magma, and it produces a small amount of light because of it. If the player, pigman, or Magma Cube come too close to the Nether's Lava ocean, the Molten Fisherman will extend its jaws to bite the prey. It defeats a magma cube, or a pigman in one snap, but players can take 3 hits from its jaws before perishing. However, its jaw is also its weak point. If its jaw is attacked and the Molten Fisherman is defeated, the beast will drop 0 - 3 of its fangs, which can be used to craft fire arrows, or a decorative block made out of them.
