Just a suggestion to upgrade the iron golem, add varriants. To craft one simply replaces the center block with one of the ore storage blocks of a different type. Examples bellow.
Block types and effects
coal block: gains a furnace like chest, attacks light mobs on fire, replaces iron drop on death with coal.
Iron: standard
Gold: replaces left arm with a steampunk type arm. Iron golem will be enchanted at random by priests. The longer it survives near a village which can enchant it the better it gets but starts out weaker then a standard iron golem.
Redstone: replaces both arms with crossbows. Is ranged, if village has a flecher they will load it with lingering or enchanted arrows. Generally poison.
lapis: gives the golem a blue paint job, golem can be dyed and have flag's mounted to it like a cape. good for castle builders who want to show their side.
Diamond: left arm is replaced with a crossbow right arm is melee, has all the features of gold and redstone and more health.
Emerald: villagers nearby restock faster as it helps them do their jobs. If crafted far away from villagers may attract villagers to the location a 0.5% chance per minecraft day increases by 0.25% per day until one arrives max 10%.
Nether quartz: this one is different as even if the player puts it together nothing will happen, instead the player needs to build near a village with a priest and a weapon smith. IF it has both they will head over to it and talk a bit before building it.
Quartz core golem: has a blaze cannon on its right arm, this fires in bursts of three lighting mobs on fire and doing 8 damage per shot lighting mobs on fire. Doesn't light blocks on fire unless in a desert or hot biome.
