Something that I think would enhance the Book & Quill item would be able to use the icon of the item that shows up in your hot bar/inventory whenever mentioning said item. For example, instead of wanting to write out a crafting recipe for mushroom stew, instead of "Brown Mushroom + Red Mushroom + Bowl = Mushroom Stew" it could be viewed as something like this:
To go about doing this, I think typing in the data value would make most sense. So instead of writing 'Red Mushroom' you'd write 'minecraft:red_mushroom' for the image to appear. Hovering over the image would also display the name card for it as it would in the inventory. I think this could be utilized great in map making, and players who are forgetful of crafting recipes like myself, but also for something to appear in the Librarian's lectern as a helpful hint to the player. Maybe the Librarian keeps books on items dependent on the needs other villagers' professions in the village? I think in general it adds to the aesthetic of Minecraft, as it makes it feel like a players journal and an adventure log.
