Legacy versions of minecraft have always been my favorite versions to play. From alpha to beta 1.7 with no hunger or sprinting and old terrain. Those versions were the most nostalgic for me. But i also like some of the new features as well and i cant play a old version with new features. There was a mod back in the day called old days that added a menu where you could turn a variety of features on and off such as old sounds, old block textures, hunger, sprinting, the way bows worked and old mob drops. On top of that it gave you the ability to load worlds with old terrain generation types from older versions of minecraft, and give you the ability to use old seeds that you may have loved from back in the day. Sure you can easily use mods, commands or resource packs to do some of those things but they are never really the same. The Old days mod is no longer being updated but even back when it was i always thought it would be amazing to have something like this officially implemented in to the game.
Minecraft has always been a game about playing your way, doing what you want to do, make what you want to make. Adding the ability to go back to your roots and play with a mix of new with old would bring more players together. Old players would be happy that they can play the way they used to play and also experience the new features in a way they want to experience them. And newer players can experience the old ways of minecraft, they ways minecraft used to be. It would open up a infinite combinations of features and infinite ways to play.
