In the most recent snapshot for Minecraft Java Edition, 19w12a, gossiping was added to the villagers. These gossips include the making of iron golems and trade inflation. The trades with the villagers go up in prices if you hit any of them. Maybe if you steal the goodies out of the blacksmiths chests, you should be punished in a way. This gossip and inflation system gave me an idea. If you steal from the blacksmiths chests, the blacksmiths should gossip to the other villagers and the prices should inflate the same way they inflate if you hit a villager. This is a small little change, but it would give the player a choice. Either the player can trade with the villagers and have them stay the same or you can steal from the blacksmiths and the trades of the villagers go up. Why would villagers want to trade with the player if they know they are going to steal from them?
