Yeah I see what you mean. I've played Java for 4 years and mcpe for 5. And this whole time I've noticed bedrock is becoming WAY more popular than Java, mainly through Windows 10 edition, since java players play on pc, they get windows 10 for free. I wish they would combine the games as well.

Better yet, they should kill bedrock edition.

killing bedrock and it's stupid branching-from-original redstone physics and making pausing actually pausing would be PERFECT.

I completely agree with you, but for a different reason. I'm trying to start a YouTube channel that's mostly focused around Minecraft multiplayer, but all my friends play bed rock and I play java

killing bedrock will make Minecraft lose 4/5 of its players but I like the merging idea.

What if they converted the Java into a C++? They modify the engine to be lag-free, and have even better physics, and then announce the merge.

Killing Bedrock is A Really Dumb Idea Cuz Many People Play That Compared To Java and What If You wanted To Play On Your Phone Or mobile Device It is A Better idea To Just Merge The Two And Some People Just Want To Try Out MC Without That 90 minute Thing So They buy The Mobile Version It Might Be Easier To Just merge It Rather than Mojang Having So Many Angry People Asking For Their Money Back

I agree, But is Still Almost Impossible. Both have different programming language. The only Way to merge is converted one edition to other edition programming language. (Example: Java Edition Program is converted into C++) So they can merge, and have The Total Cross-Platform play. And Also, Killing Bedrock is Most stupidest Idea in History Of Minecraft.

Some people argue it's impossible. Tbh I don't think it is. If we are talking about multiplayer and playing on servers. Can't you just use some sort of bridge that translates the languages of the programs into one or something? If you look at any currently running university, like in Australia's university of technology Syndey, they always are using multiple languages bridging them all together. It shouldn't be too hard to do the same.

A terrible idea. Also, why would anyone want the bedrock edition? It seriously isn't that good. The animations are a joke, you have to use a shield while on 1.8 pvp (Like don't mix the two things keep them separated. At least add back sword blocking if you want 1.8). Also, isn't java more portable than c++?

They should probably just get rid of bedrock editon and put java edition on all platforms.

This is a good idea, because if we dont pay attention to the problem, what happens is bedrock gains more and more platforms, and java dies.

I dont think killing bedrock is a very good idea, I also dont think converting java code into c++ would be good either, as c++ is harder to code, though WAY more flexible

I think that mojang should look into adding java to more platforms, mainly because players love bedrock because it has these cool features, and is easier(less mobs). And people love java because it is harder and gameplay(mobs, farms, ect) is easier, so letting both thrive would be great for minecraft

ive never been a fan of bedrock edition, its missing alot of features from java and when i try to play bedrock its just inconvenient that they dont feel similar quite at all and just being able to mod java is a big plus in my book

I feel like we should make bedrock more like java, have ACTUAL PAUSING LOL, and be able to migrate worlds from versions. We need just one Minecraft already. If we had just one big version, updates would be way bigger since Mojang would not have to worry about the two different versions :D

I think that is great idea, since i was Bedrock player that play from 2015 and hope that i can play Minecraft Java on phone due their mod, server, community etc. I just hope that Mojang and Microsoft can make one single language programming base for Minecraft, or they're can converting code from Java to C++ or C++ to Java? or a better solution is just make Java cross platform. But if they really do convert Java to C++ or vice versa, the system requirements maybe higher due the converting.
