This mob should inspire the player to seek out simpler food sources, rather than rush to meat.
In the overworld we have lots of food some of which is better than others. Bread has almost become a side note to the all powerful beef. Cooked beef, and to some extent the other meats in minecraft are the ideal food source. Since passive mobs like cows and sheep are so plentiful, There is no reason for the player to seek out alternative food sources in the game.
The Leshy would be a passive mob similar to Pigmen that will only attack you when attacked. It would appear in the overworld. This mob can appear as any passive mob or possibly even a tree. If appearing as a sheep it could be sheared, or if appearing as a cow it could be milked, or led with a lead and moved around with no problem. It could be led into a pen but could escape at its leisure. It would not be breed able with the mob that it appeared as, but would not refuse the food. However when it is struck or when a nearby passive mob is attacked, the Leshy would attack the player, inflicting the player with poison/nausea.
When wounded the Leshy would flee for a time to recuperate. When killed the Leshy would not give the drops of the creature/plant it was impersonating but could have its own drop.
This could also be set up so that if the player was hungry or hit a passive mob with a hand, rather than a weapon, the Leshy would not attack. As it is not hostel to the nature.
Spawning the Leshy around other passive mobs would cause the player to think twice before attacking these passive mobs, especially early on in the game when the player is not as well equipped to take on a dangerous foe. The player would have to resort to breads, and other less ideal food supplies until they had enough resources to challenge the Leshy.
Nearby wolves or bears should join the Leshy when it is provoked to attack the player.
This mob is based on the Slavic mythological creature of the same name. Its natural state is a humanoid shape but can assume any likeness in nature and can change size and height. It is portrayed with horns and often surrounded by packs of wolves or bears. It is known to have a neutral disposition to humans based on their behaviors towards nature.
