Fennec foxes

Well, we’re getting foxes, right? Red and arctic ones? But what about fennec foxes? That’s a whole new story.

Fennec foxes are the smallest foxes ever, so they should be way smaller than red and arctic ones. But, their ears should be tall, and their eyes should be all black or dark grey with no white (unless you want to make the white shiny thing in their eyes so it’ll look less creepy). They should spawn in deserts only, and be mostly nocturnal. They should have underground burrows, and they sleep there during the day, but like the red and arctic ones, they should wake up when approached by a predator, or the player. Speaking of predators, I think they should be in future updates, because none of the fox’s main predators are in Minecraft right now, but they shouldn’t get close to dogs. But, their prey should be termites, rabbits, and turtle eggs. They will also eat berries if they find some. They should be a similar or the exact color of sand. They should be very fast, so the only way to get them to trust you is by holding a dead termite, rabbit, or a turtle egg. They will trust you if you feed them a lot, and you can breed them with these things. Oh, and one more thing. They should go to villages and see if they got any termites to eat. And, when killed, babies will drop nothing, while adults should commonly drop nothing, and rarely drop a fennec fox tail, which can be put on a frame. 

 

I hope to see these little guys in a update, because who wouldn’t want a fennec fox in Minecraft? Thanks for looking into this. Have a nice day!

    I think that’s great! I was going to request them too, but I think they should be able to carry their young in their mouths, follow you around and should trust you if you save them from attack from a zombie

    Fennec foxes are my favorite type of breed. I was saddened to see arctic and red made their way in but not the fennec.

    Fennec foxes also prefer to hunt at night but they do hunt in the day so make them  a bit more active and energetic at night. Also Bat eared foxes please that would be so cool the 4 main type of foxes should be in Minecraft (Bat eared foxes eat bugs, berries and termites)

    Knowing Mojang they’d probably name them Desert foxes, but I do agree with your points however, I do argue that the “termites” you cited should be replaced with silverfish, because they need another use and their prey more likely would’ve been rabbits and berry bushes, no termites. Nor silverfish. I hope you take this contributionaly, Thanks. -FooxDude99

    I agree, fennecs are needed. They have forest foxes(red) and arctic foxes, they need desert foxes, fennecs. They could be bunny sized and you tame them with raw rabbit instead of berries.

    I feel like this would add some much needed life to deserts and when meerkats eventually get added, just imagine them chasing each other. It would be really cool to have both the cold and a hot climate variant of the fox. I agree that you should be able to use raw rabbit so they can trust you, and once termite mounds are a things, just imaginé these little guys jumping on them like the other foxes do with chickens

    I came here to suggest this as well. They’re cute, they have huge ears, and they’d give some more life and diversity to Desert biomes.

    Plus, my son’s love of foxes stemmed from Minecraft, and his favorite is now fennec foxes, so it would be full circle :)
