Most mobs drop items that are reasonable, some items not so reasonable, and some which don't make sense. However there are also some items that I feel should be included, just to make the game more interesting.
First of all ghasts are big, easy to fight, and only drop a two items, gunpowder and a ghast tear, ironically the one thing you would expect to drop from it, a fire charge doesn't which I feel should be changed. Another thing similar to this is mooshroom, who don't drop mushrooms when killed, even though they make mushroom stew; sheep drop wool unless sheared upon death, the same should be true for the mooshroom. Next Iron golems are very useful mobs when fighting, but at the same time, they are useless. They help defend you but once overrun and killed, they only drop a few iron ingots, for something of that size and made with several blocks, I feel that they need to drop an iron block once in a while, and the same could be said for snow golems, and pumpkins. The slime is a mob, which when killed splits, and it has several sizes, some of which are huge, but these huge slimes don't add much, they are just another layer of slimes to defeat. If they were given the ability to drop slime blocks, than maybe they might be more fun to try and fight. Lastly the vindicator and villager, two very opposite mobs, who are equally useless when it comes to killing. I say we give the vindicator the iron axe as a drop, and for the villager emeralds or books, maybe then will these mobs have a reason to die.
I may have missed some drops that make sense, and I may have added some that don't, but mob drops almost never get changed, and it's about time that they change for the better. Since quite a few mobs don't drop what they should, this should be updated to show how many items there truly are, as well as maybe adding some new kinds of mob farms.
