Action Keys

2 - 3 or possibly even more keys that we can change like any other key binding in the settings but has no functionality by default. Pressing one however will execute a command file in all active datapacks, both for pressing and releasing the key (so command creators can play around with holding down the key and so on).

I just named them Action Keys but their name doesn't really matter, the important thing is just to add a few keys that have no function in vanilla but can be used for mapmaking/servers.

 

Examples of how this could be used (implemented by mapmakers):

- Custom Resource Pack could rename the Action Key's name to the function they serve in the datapack

- Casting some magic spells by pressing those keys

- Teleporting back to base in minigames by holding down a teleport Action Key for 5 seconds

- And many many more, the possibilities are infinite...

    I would love to be able to bind a key to swap the item in my current hotbar slot with the item directly above it in the inventory. A bind-able action key that runs a datapack script is just what I need to implement it.
