Okay so, similar to how magma blocks and soul sand effect water in contact with it, I think Redstone components should act in a similar way when touched by water, basically:
have the radius 8x8 where water would take down your health, right in the center of it you would lose 4 hearts, and it would go down by half a heart for every block you get away from the middle of it, also for buttons, pressure plates, Redstone torches, repeaters and comparators: the water would change the configuration for each item, when it interacts with the torch, it deactivates, when it interacts the button and plate, they would both be in an on state until the water is removed, and for repeaters and comparators, the water would mess with their configuration, also it would switch daylight sensors from night mode to daymode on repeat.
