

The Demolliger is a brand new type of Illager that likes to throw bombs, ride phantoms, and wreak havoc from the air. So let's take a look at what all of that is about.
SPAWNING
The Demolliger has a small chance to spawn naturally whenever a player is already being attacked by phantoms on a full moon. They will also replace 50% of ALL phantom spawns when the player has the Bad Omen effect.
BEHAVIOR
When the Demolliger is a phantom jockey, the phantom will not swoop and bite you. Instead, it cruises high while the illager throws down special bombs called Sputters.
- Kill the Demolliger first and the phantom will begin swooping as normal. But this phantom is stronger than average because it's larger (Taking advantage of their currently unused size tag.)
- Kill the Phantom first or wait for the daylight to kill it and the Demolliger will fall to the ground. If it doesn't die, it's going to avoid you while continuing to throw its Sputters.
SPUTTERS
Sputters are little bombs shaped like creeper heads. These bombs are bouncy and have a mind of their own. Set them off and they bounce steadily towards the nearest player or hostile mob. If they don't hit anything after some time then they will explode on their own. You can also hit them directly like shulker bullets.
Sputters are uncraftable but Demolligers will drop 1-3 on death, with increased yield from looting.

You can throw these sputters yourself or launch them from dispensers, but they will still target you.

You can craft 8 Sputters with a potion, they will splash it out every time they bounce or explode. It's a seeking potion bomb!
CONCLUSION
And that was the Demolliger Phantom Jockey. I've had the idea for a type of phantom jockey for quite a while now and it was only recently that I came up with a method if implementing it that I was satisfied with. You have a new illager with a unique form of attack, a new weapon that you can do a lot of cool things with, and a pretty big contribution to the raids coming in 1.14.
