This was submitted November of last year and it only has two votes and no comments? Really? This seems pretty simple...

This is really something that would benefit a lot o players, in old versions, when theres wasn't many blocks it didn't seem like too much trouble to sort your inventory by yourself, and this is in the way way older versions, I am a returning player, I haven't played Minecraft for years, and now to me this seems as a must have feature. There's just so many items I think it would be easier for a player to sort their chest if this was actually a feature in the game.

Love the game. So hard for me to look at a disorganized chest, though. Would also love a quick button to stack like items in your inventory to stackable items in the chest.

YES. This is a minimal feature and to be honest and I don't care that I'm mention Notches name, he, should have had this implemented, get it done MS.

It's really nice that these corps etc that make .. or no make and or take over .. another's game heh hem. .do so mostly with games that they buy, from others, they never do anything to the original mechanics like this, they leave it but change game play etc only to vamp it and make it new so more players join. Hey I get it, it works and it's good for the game.

It'd just be nice to have that chest feature. Been what now?; How many years?

IKR?; HillyBeast, should have been done ages ago, like I already .. hate to have to spray it again but hey, most games today.. have this as a basic feature. Like it's given. Usually. But hey it's MS so :) what can you expect, probably busy saving the world.

Just thought of something else.. what would it take for say idk some team to work on it?; Like what an entire day of code?; Maybe? I doubt at all very long.

One of my favorite features of Life In The Woods. Another idea would be to manually sort items once and then then lock the chest so that the order will always be remebered by the chest until it is unlocked again.

Desperately needed. There are and have been plenty of mods that did it, so it must be relatively simple.

My idea was similar to this but you can press a certain but for example food and farming items button you press it when in a chest and all food/farming items go into the chest

I was going to recommend this feature myself in feedback but it looks like you already did it for me.

Even the bare minimum here (no sorting controls besides the Sort button itself) would be a game changer.

The ability to click a button and have all the partial stacks combine and all the items in the inventory get collected, like-with-like, would be a huge time saver and a massive QoL improvement. Couldn't think of a simpler bang for you buck.

Getting fancy with different types of sorting would be great, too, but seriously you don't even need to get that advanced straight away.

I pray and hope this is added in Minecraft just like in Terraria and Stardew Valley.

Other games have storage sorting, this seems to be overlooked in Minecraft where storage is a really big part of the game.

Yessss! this would be sooo helpful. I have been saying this since day 1 of playing. if you have ever played grounded they have a sort button to organize everything makes it so much less over whelming when you have a ton of chests!

    Hello^^

    We are in 2024.
After spending countless hours on Minecraft, I believe that one of the most essential features to implement is a button in the chest interface that allows sorting items/blocks by similarity. When creating a storage room, it's a real pain to manually sort everything each time. While automatic sorting can be set up using redstone, not everyone knows how to use it... It's a shame to miss out on such a feature that would make the game much more enjoyable.
So, I vote for this idea and hope to see it implemented soon. Thank you!

There are mods in Java that do this... and I must say, it is incredibly nice to have, especially when you have chests full of mixed up items early in the game.

This would be a great addition to the game. Making building much easier since items would be able to be found quicker and more efficiently. Most games already have features like this so it's surprising this game does not have this yet. There are so many blocks and so many variations of each one.

Also, being able to make colored basic chests (maybe dependent on what wood is being used) would be helpful as well to help discern what item are in each chest without having to make signs to label them.
