Changed Commands (too difficult)

Using commands is much more difficult than they should be. What happened to /gamemode 1 or /gamemode c? What happened to /toggledownfall? I don't want to have to memorize all the changed commands when the original ones were more convenient. Also, I love using one command creations and such, but with the new limitations of the commands, it's too difficult. This really does make me less motivated to play Minecraft. It frustrates me a great deal, and it takes away a lot of joy and ease from the game.
