I would really enjoy if they added different wolf breeds, for example, the red wolf or grey wolf. Since the cats were added I thought this would be really nice and since they are doing stuff to the tiaga I think it would fit it quite nicely.

we all want this but for some reason mojang hates doggos
Yes I agree. They already had three breeds of cats and they added 7 or 8 more (I can’t remember) without adding more wolf colors first, which upset me a bit lol. But I’m expecting now that they added more cat types that they’ll add more wolves or I’ll be ajifakifbskrbfjsksjffh
Sheep, llamas, horses, cats, but not wolves. How crazy is that 🤦 why didn't they not add textures to player's best friend. 😣😣😣 🤦⛏️
Dogs deserve it, all mobs should.
I'm all for this, though I think we should keep the current wolf breed as one of the possibilities.
I'd be ecstatic to see The Gray wolf, Timber wolf, and Arctic wolf variants implemented into the game. Please upvote this, guys! <3
I can agree with this! If the cats were added, then why not new dog/skins or dog/types? I mean, I love the ones we have now, but I have been wanting this for years!
I think they should make it where if you tame it it becomes a different type of dog like a Mexican chihuahua
With the wide variety of cat colors we have now, it's definitely about time they added some new wolf varieties lol.
The current wolf we have is already based on the grey wolf (at least, I'm pretty sure it is), so the wolf varieties that would be best to add are red wolves and arctic wolves. I would also say Ethiopian wolves, but they're so similar in color to red wolves that it wouldn't really be necessary (plus they have very different proportions to the other types).
Arctic wolves would obviously be best placed in the snowy tundra/snowy mountains (and maybe they can share the snow taiga with the grey/traditional wolves as well). Red wolves can thrive in a pretty wild variety of environments, namely forests, swamps, and coastal prairies. I personally think red wolves would make a good swamp-exclusive mob, since the swamp doesn't have anything going for it except for lily pads and the off chance of finding a witch hut.
Another potential species could be the Mexican grey wolf, though they, like the Ethiopian wolves, are quite similar in color to red wolves (and also smaller than the other types). They would spawn in deserts and mesas/badlands.
Maybe even different biome wolves like a nether(hell) hound and ender wolf and please a white wolf they would be so cute and huskies
Yes, I agree, to match the new colorful cat update. But please don't make them in different sizes/breeds/species because that would a) not be fair to cats (which naturally come in only 1 size) and b) Minecraft is a game about mining and crafting, not just animals. Don't get me wrong, I like Minecraft animals, just not too many variants of them.
Good idea! I think wolves would do well with a similar color system to the way horses work now--base colors as one variable and markings as another. Base colors could be White, Light Gray, Dark Gray, Black, Tan, Red (similar to the blond-maned horse's coat), and Brown. Markings could be translucent, so they combine with the Base Color (a white wolf with the Saddle marking--think a typical German Shepherd's pattern--would have a light gray Saddle, while a Dark Gray wolf with the Saddle would have a black back, and so on).
I also like the idea.
I would be interested in having coats be dependent on the biome that the wolf spawned in similar to how rabbit textures work. A teaching opportunity around how different breeds originated from different biomes is at hand!
I feel the same way and wrote a suggestion like this as well.
You mean like different colors like they had for the older cats i would like to see a black one sence i have a black dog
