Observer output is too short.

A piston connected to an observer via redstone torch doesn't activate because the output shuts off too quickly. They would be much more useful if the observer's output was more comparable to that of a button.

Use a repeater. Extending the pulse length of the observer would ruin everything. The observer is one of the most useful blocks out there and I would be pretty upset if everything I built in the last 6 months was ruined because people forgot to use a repeater.
