This would be an expansion to the redstone side of the game. For everything you can do with enchanting and potions, have a way to do it with redstone! You could use a potion of night vision, or you could use night vision goggles(placed in the helmet slot, acts like a helmet but when equipped you can see better in the dark, crafting recipe could be iron helmet + 2 redstone + 2 glass panes maybe)
You could use a potion to breathe under water or you could use a scuba tank (could be placed in chest plate slot? Could be more vulnerable to attack than iron chest plate, but allows you to breath underwater.
You could even have “rare minerals” to use in the new crafting recipes... similar to how flint is a byproduct of mining gravel, silica could be a byproduct of mining sand, and copper or iron oxide could be a byproduct of red sand!
There could be new components that are dropped by mobs.
You could have new tools similar to clocks and compasses. Maybe even some type of detector for minerals/resources/biomes
This could also become a really hyped update... “REDSTONE vs. ENCHANTING... MAGIC vs. SCIENCE... which side are you on?” And this could promote the game farther...
And if you wanted to go this far... you could make a type of red stone manufactured portal that would take you to an alternate dimension... you could make it like the opposite of the nether... cold, and lots of water, rich in resources, maybe even new mobs in this dimension, it could be designed to showcase this new update..
