Swamp Manatees

Hi I’m MiffinMaker28 and I’m here to request an idea for the Minecraft swamps.

At the moment Minecraft swamps are almost completely useless and don’t even have there own mob. Here is my idea to spice up our swamps.

What I would love to be put in our swamps is the fat, slow, yet legendary sea cow (a.k.a. Manatee)

Here is everything you will need to know about the manatee.

1. Manatees should at least be as long as two Minecraft cows, as tall as 3 chickins, and as wide as one sheep. Obviously this should be quite a fat/large animal.

2. Manatees will spawn swamps and vary rarely in rivers. They will normally like to hang out in 2-4 block deep waters. There is a 10% chance they can spawn with a baby companion.

3. Manatees can be breed using sea grass. They can not be tamed.

4. A manatees behavior is not that normal. Most of the time you will find them slowly moving in the water. Carelessly floating minding its own business. Another common thing you would normally see them doing is not smacking there head on the ground but gently skinning the bottoms of the heads on the sea grass putting the sea grass back at beginning stage. What the manatees would be doing is eating sea grass just like sheep eat normal grass except you would see the sea cows doing this much more frequently.

5. Manatees will have one coat of skin the color of a light grey-tan brown. They will also have a slightly greener part an there backs.

6. Manatees will not drop anything because at the moment in the real world most species of manatee are endangered and having to kill them in Minecraft would also resemble animal cruelty.

    The thing is WolveReigner781 that manatees in real life don’t really give humans anything besides meat from hunting. Yet turtles don’t either. So I’m hopeong that someone reading this could give an idea besides manatee scutes and helmets, not that I’m putting all my hope on the other people of this website.

    MuffinMaker28 I think you would be a great help in the animal protection team why not join them I would also love to see manatees in Minecraft as long as last Gen gets them too

     I think you can tame and ride them because they are pretty big from what you say so I think you could at least team or ride them

    I really like this idea and think it would fit excellently with the new announced biome Mangrove forest.

     

    Maybe have an easter egg that if you drown a cow it turns into a sea cow too :P

    1- Manatees should spawn in mangrove biomes, rivers near swamps and very rarely near lone islands

    2- Villagers and dolphins will get angry if you damage a manatee

    3- Drowneds should be afraid of manatees

    I think manatees should be in the river, not the swamp. They should chase boats and break them, as they think it's another manatee. Players should follow it as it eats seaweed and digs up sand. 40% of the time it digs up treasure.

    this is such an amazing idea!! and with the addition of mangrove trees and roots its even more perfect. manatees like to eat mangrove roots, so itll give the block more of a use than just a decorative block. manatees can be a mob that eats multiple foods like the pig, and it gives an opportunity to have 2 different kinds of manatees. some in swamps with moss growing on them (like the mangrove trees themselves) and one without moss in a new biome with lots of sea grass fields. the idea of them not dropping anything is cool too, brings more real world stuff into the game!

    I think Manatees should be 2 blocks long and one block high, not to impede your creativity. I also think Manatees should drop meat or seagrass when killed or even a mangrove seedling.

    Suggestion:

    The manatees could also dig through the mud and sand and bring players little gifts like sniffer eggs, sea foliage, and other random items so they aren’t completely useless.
