When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

This could be useful.  It could be crafted with a hopper and two pistons.  Also, one that pulls blocks apart would be useful.  It could be crafted with a hopper and two sticky pistons.

These would be amazing for farms.  I know I would use them to condense items into a more compact form, and it would be prefect for an automatic melon farm whose product is intended for villager trading.

I like bilbo’s input, sticky pistons to pull the block apart and regular to put them together

I actually came here to suggest this, so hopefully this isn't too much of a necro post.  :)

I would actually suggest that there not be a "setup" - pre filtering items before they arrive at the condenser should be required, and if someone throws a random potato into your item stream at the wrong place it should plop into the condenser and sit there preventing blocks from being compressed until you manually get it out.  This makes it a bit more difficult/interesting to use, and also would make programming it a lot easier.  No need to create a custom block state to be stored, etc.
