Witches as a hostile mob are powerful currently in game and i daresay they are well done. What I like about them most is their difference between what normally a person would consider an "evil witch" - as very much like Mr Bergensen himself, I am not a fan of "classical" things and I like it when things go against the norm.
That said, it would be nice if witches played a bigger role in the game; by this I mean that there were different variants of them depending on where a player goes.
For example, it would be nice if in every biome, just like the normal witch spawns, there would also spawn a "defence witch". They would have the same spawn count and chance as the normal witch, but they would be different... They would have a creepy white robe and a red cross on them, instead of a hat they would have a white hood. I don't know what they would be called yet (I will leave that to Mojang) but they would work a bit like an "evil medic" - instead of throwing offensive potions at the player, they would throw helpful potions at any mobs that the player fights, meaning that a player would have to focus on them first if they where to successfully defeat any other mobs that they were fighting. This would be great against undead mobs like zombies because in the day these will burn, this witch will in turn throw a fire resistance splash option and they no longer will take burning damage, then the witch may finish the job by throwing a harming and healing the undead while harming the player.
They would fight with fists or weapons in close range and they would drop the same things as witches, but also , rarely, splash potions that they use.
