Loading a world in an older version (in Java) should create a backup

When you load an old world in a newer version (e.g. 1.12.2->1.13, or 1.13->18w30a), the game asks you if you want to create a backup of the world; however no such option is given if you load a newer world in an older version (e.g. 18w30a->1.13).

Since downgrading is more likely to break worlds, there should be an option (in future versions) to backup when downgrading, or the game should backup automatically if you load the world.

    Great idea, but this would be limited to 1.13 by necessity, right?

    It would be limited to 1.13+ so it can't save you from downgrading to 1.12, but should help with newer versions (e.g. 1.14 to 1.13).

    Yes! My 2 year-old sister keeps loading Minecraft and often breaks my worlds because she loaded them in older versions, but when she loads them in newer versions she knows to press the "Backup and Load" button instead. This would make a *huge* difference.

    Every archived old version will have to be reuploaded just to add support for world backups.
