You should play hive and galaxite they are family friendly and have a report button for inappropriate content like one day I was playing just build and a guy made a dick he got banned after that

to be fair this is while in the game still the real world just like how you cant get people banned from public places because you over heard something they said that you didn't like or agree with. they still have their rights and so do you for instance you can chose to not go around people that do things you don't like or agree with. So while I fully support and agree with you protecting your child from these realities that doesn't give you the right to infringe on others peoples basic right of speech or expression, doing so would kind of be a Karen move.

This is a terrible idea. Moderation should be done on a server per server basis, not per each account. If you want kid friendly Minecraft, play on a kid friendly server. This would be overreaching in a big way- OH WAIT, IT'S ALREADY BEEN ANNOUNCED.

I think that you are more to blame for this than Minecraft. If you don't want your kids seeing inappropriate content you should just not let them use the internet. Many server owners are fine with some level of swearing and it's up to them to allow it or not. If a player isn't following the server's rules, report them to the server's staff.

    Minecraft isn't a kids game.

    There. I said it.

Did it ever cross your mind that maybe the game is not at fault here and millions of other players should not have their experience degraded or potentially driven to ruin just because you chose to spend the time with your young kid on a server that allows swearing? Do you realize the consequences of the freshly announced moderation changes? Players can live in fear of having their entire online experience revoked because Karen thought they were being too edgy? This is truly the darkest timeline.

<1> Devs are not there to micromanage servers. There are plenty of kids servers with things like plot claims or curse word censoring as well as stricter admin. No need to ruin the fun for people who don't want to act on their 100% best behavior because that gets boring and old, just join a kid-friendly server or realm.
<2>Maybe they are building curse words. Why can't you just report it to the server owners? Now Microsoft has decided to install some bs rule about permabans from you *own account* because parents can't be bothered to talk to the right people. There is a way to report, first of all, and there is a way to never see it again, aka join a personal realm and invite trusted friends to play with you.

/ban would ne nice for ops instead of /kick (bedrock), or the abbility to /votekick /votetempban for servers that can be disabled or enabled by command or server config

Isn’t that against the Xbox Live Code of Conduct?

Ah, it must be this post that lead to Minecraft moderation and permanent bans. Sadly we still don't know at this time whether all servers, public and private, are being moderated. Will people be at risk of perma-ban when connecting to a friends world, or even a small server? If it's only public Minecraft servers then that distinction needs to be made.

Maybe there could be a setting where it blocks out inappropriate words

If your playing on a server, I suggest letting someone that owns the server know about the situation, some servers should allow you to report the player. I understand it's very annoying and frustrating. It's as if my little brother and I just can't have fun on a suggested server or something related.

this should be the servers job to handle not Minecraft but thanks to people like you now we have this stupid moderation on realms. instead individual servers should be doing the banning not Mojang

I hope you know, children kind of ruin the game too, in some cases. Also, is Minecraft not rated ten+? And I do agree, it is stupid that some people build and say inappropriate things online via chat, names, skins and build battles. This is unfair to the rest of us and nothing is done about it. I think servers should have a way for players to report each other of this discretion and investigate farther. If they find a player has done this, they kick them for some amount of time. This does lie in the hands of moderates and admins, though.

The thing about this is that suppression of speech should not be enforceable. People have had this issue for a long time, my friends parents have had the same issue when he was younger. However instead of trying to ruin other people's experience within this game by suppressing what they can and can't say my friend's parents stipulated what servers he could and couldn't go onto. just because you don't want your kid to see inappropriate content does not mean that people should be forced to stop. It means that you should sensor what servers your kid can go onto. It's a pretty simple fix.

If u r having problems like that on roblox then u got a bad taste for games cause 99.9999999999999% of all the roblox games with over 1k people playing them do not have that problem 🙄 I've been playing roblox for a verry long time and have NEVR encountered this problem plz let her play roblox I am 12 almost 13 and 4 some reason my dads Xbox account is on this and I am 2 lazy to switch! Just make sure she doesn't go on a game with less than 1k players then she shouldn't have that problem! Also most Java servers have a way 2 report people! If u can't report then don't play that server.

It's pretty simple just go on Hypixel, Hive, and Mineplex. Also all you have to do is NOT go on a server if it's that bad.

Maybe there should be a report website where you submit the report. Where you need to take pictures of the incident and the person who made the incident. Then the player would be asked. If they did not provide logical reasons, they would be banned from multiplayer for 5 days. 2nd offence is 10 days. 3rd offence is 1 month, 4th offence is 3 months, 5th offence is perma ban from mp.

I agree. One of the many child safety issues with Minecraft is the INABILITY to control which servers a child can connect to. I have asked mojang and microsoft multiple times including raising it to microsoft legal to try to get simple ability to define the list of servers a child can connect to and use a passcode to control additions, deletions, and modifications to the list.

but mojang and microsoft have a long track record of NOT being interested in protecting their primary customers - children in this case.

Roblox has the same problems and Minecraft is starting to have it more and more.

perhaps a class action lawsuit would get their attention and protect children.

a way you can solve this is by looking up kid friendly sever and enter them into the log

also children aren’t the only people who play Minecraft there are plenty of adults that love playing Minecraft and it’s bad that this is happening but it’s preventable if you just find some severs that are kid friendly also you can stop them from adding more severs with the need for an ip for the sever

I think this is not Mojang’s problem you can’t expect a report feature implemented into Minecraft, because I don’t think the Minecraft community would appreciate it. Please contact server owners or restrict online play on your Minecraft account please stick to big name servers with better admins and chat features.

I don't think you can filter constellations of Blocks. It would be too hard and there would be too many false positives. You can however pretty easily add a report system, wich actually already partially exists. Most Servers add a /report command.

just don't play on a server, or make a server and invite people who don't do stuff like that. thats all it takes. you don't need to do a lawsuit. just do some research and find a server that fits the maturity of your child's age.

I'm just pointing this out, but I feel as if Minecraft has become a little "too" kid-friendly. There should be settings to enable or disable a chat censor or adding settings to allow for more gruesome and mature mob designs such as zombies featuring blood on their texture. These settings would give the best of both worlds of Minecraft, the older fanbase a good game while allowing children to experience it a more suitable fashion.
