My daughter and I are Minecraft fans and use it to spend quality time together. We love the games and Minecraft servers. Recently we noticed people creating or using blocks to write or build curse words and inappropriate content for kids. It's very upsetting and has to be taken care of. I don't know how it would be done but it has to be. There should be a way for us to report players that are creating an unsafe environment for kids and families. This is one of the reasons we took away Roblox from our computers.

I think that's just an unfortunate byproduct of the fact that Minecraft is a free, open-world game. Does the server you play on have rules against this kind of behavior? If so, contact the server, there will definitely be a way to report bad behavior. Also, has it already been taken care of? Chances are the admins of your server just need time to find and take down things like this. Be patient with them ^^
I don't think there's anything the game itself can do to prevent people from building inappropriate things. Your best bet is to find a server that is specifically family friendly so that they will be on top of removing such things and banning the builders.
Another option would be to play by yourselves as a family. You can make your own world and nobody can ever ruin it.
I agree with this because I have experienced this myself, I think there should be a way you can report players by clicking on their gamer tag or typing their username in a report button you could add to the game. I have been on many servers where there was a building contest and people built porn content. Please take this idea and add a reporting system to servers. Especially if the owners do not ban the builders and don’t pay attention or care.
Why must people ruin everything nice...
There are admins on servers to take care of that, the developers don't need to hear this...
this is why online is not rated unless offline which is E for everyone or T for teen, when this game started first out it was meant for older teens but it was later marketed towards kids. in Australia minecraft was rated 17+ because of online play which this stuff can happen.
Contact the server owners, because the last thing people would like is getting banned from the game for "hate speech" or something someone else doesn't like. I think there should be a button in the settings where server owners can link their site or something or Discord to report someone. I don't like the idea of Mojang stepping in and restricting player's actions.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Yeah here's a good idea, lets ban every immature person playing the game
You can report people by clicking on their gamertag in the pause menu
Blocking them would do?
That is the responsibility of server owners, not the game. Considering that the _server_ is essentially just a JAR file, I cannot imagine what way could it be done, either. Maybe just a /report command/method for Realms?
i feel the same way. its asham that there are people in this world that would ruin this perfectly fun game for people. i have seen a lot of stuff (that i dont want to alaborate on) in minecrafts very own servers. this needs to be fixed... somehow
stay on big name servers like hypixel or servers where building cant be done unless you are in your personal player housing, you cant see anyone elses stuff and you get a lot of minigames. also, hypixel has an automatic filter for swearing along with mineplex (mineplex's filter is much more sensitive i can't even say my own user name because if you say it out loud part of it says pee pee)
This is one of the reasons Minecraft is losing popularity
i agree thank you
Normally, Mojang doesn't have control over players of servers. The admins and mods do. If the server has a way to report people like that, like a forum or something, then report it on there.
The server oparators need to take care of that, it is a server issue and not one for minecraft.
I'm a kid
Yes I agree too. It does ruin the fun, when you figure out that there is someone cursing or building inappropriate things.

The simple solution is just to play on a server which has rules against this kind of thing; a computer literally can't tell if a player has built swear words/nudity on a realm/server without some absurd resource-intensive algorithm.
P.S. you can actually disable chat on Roblox to avoid Profanity.
@Robloxmaster659
Minecraft was likely losing popularity due to updates like 1.9, not due to profanity.
Where does a players right to do what they please suddenly stop because you don't approve of your child's involvement? Who taught you that the world caters to your wants and desires? You have the right to leave. You do not have the right to try and enforce your values on others. If something offends you, you should have the integrity to accept this game is for more than you and your daughter, and show the maturity to distance yourself from the activity you find inappropriate.
Or open your own server or find a kid friendly server. Not everyone has to cater to your sensitivity. The real word isn't all rainbows and butterflies. You are going on a public server and demanding someone else abide by your standards. Pay for your own, put your own rules and if people don't obey the rules you set for the server you pay for then you can ban them. You can create whatever type of Minecraft server you want for your child.
I agree. I used to play on servers a lot but I couldn't go 5 seconds without somebody doing or saying something inappropriate.
the menu in game should be like bedrock so people can click on profile and report that is a way for you guys to ask for i haven't asked it because i like Minecraft Java Edition Menu A Bit Better because it gives you more experince
Like said before, there is nothing the official minecraft team can do about this, but if you want to play with family or friends without the danger of strangers, you can always set up your private minecraft server or buy a Minecraft realm.
