Recipe Book And Tutorial Hints Should Have An Opt Out Option

TEN MILLION VOTES. This single feature (recipe book) totally kills my enthusiasm for introducing MC to new players. The magic for me (and for my friends) was that first month of running around in the dark, not knowing anything but what was hard-earned caveman knowledge. Every discovery is a victory, and even now, years later, when I read up on every new thing on the wiki the second it comes out, I still appreciate how I discovered axes, furnaces, glass, buckets, milk, chests, and 30 or so other fundamental things by trial and error, huddled in my little cave in the dark waiting for night to pass and not realizing that the cave I was waiting in could spawn monsters behind me.

I fully agree on this, having this ON or OFF in settings would make life so much easier or myself, the recipe is a great option but that's all it should be option. Very similar to how 4j studios had it simply ON or OFF in settings.

It kills my love of manually crafting things, when a cop out option is there. Plus the recipe book should work like it does on Java, a button press to get to the recipe book, instead of having that all on your sceen at once. Besides it possibly makes the new afraid, may look too complex to them, and turn them off.

I'm a person who likes the earlier versions of Minecraft for the computer. 1.7 had one of the greatest modding communities around (except for Skyrim probably) with amazing mods like Orespawn. 1.8 was basically perfect. But now with these new versions trying to help new players, I just can't help but return to 1.7 and 1.8. The recipe book and the pop-ups trying to help new players will often drive away veterans of the game due to it's increased hand-holding in this day and age.

Can we at least opt out of it, though?

This recipe book RUINS a part of what I love about Minecraft. You used to be cool if you memorized all the Crafting recipes, now it doesn't even matter. also the hand holding and annoying icons kind of tick me off, personally. Please add this!!!
