Folders to sort your worlds in!

Hey there Mojang,

How about the ability to sort your worlds into folders? Nowadays, I have a pretty large list of worlds and it would be awesome if I was able to sort them into my own folders in-game in the world selection menu.

 

For example, you could create a folder and put -just- survival worlds in it. Then you could make a folder for -just- creative worlds. Or if you want to have a party, you could make a folder and throw some cool marketplace content in it ready to go for your party!

    Perfect for backups of a world you've spent years on and make an update on every month, to find out how many worlds you REALLY have! Drag and drop would be better tho! Have a vote!

    Really useful for Realms Worlds! In fact automatically generate a folder for the worlds to reside in named after the realm so you can just hop straight into your Realms world playlist! Maybe have an Indent and + "folder name" name with a plus button so you can open a folder like:

           - Folder

          |-   World 1

          |-   World 2

          |-   World 3

    I'm surprised the game doesn't already have some sort of searching system for when you have many worlds.

    I'm mainly referring to the Java Edition, because I tend to like having mods enabled on some worlds and then leave some vanilla. Sorting which is modded and which is vanilla would make finding the right world much easier.

    I was going to suggest this and its a great idea! I have different worlds that are similar to each other (like build themes) and I would like to sort them into folders so I can find them easily. It would be nice if this happened in 1.16.2 or something like that.

    I would love this as a feature, it is very much needed! Especially on bedrock edition on Xbox One because there is no way to access game files. We need an in-game way of organising our worlds! I'd love to see folders or they could add a tag and filter system EG you could filter to just show the worlds that you have manually tagged as "creative" and "minigame".

    OctoberFESTY I don't know what version you're on, but on Java edition you already can search. There's a search bar on the top. (Although it's kind of hit-or-miss if it works right depending on the version. :P)

    There would be a button on the right side of the "Edit World" button. It would have a folder on it. Then click the folder you want to put the world in(or make a new one) and TADA! a world in a folder!

    To open the folder, Click the folder button that is on the right of the "Create New World" button, then choose a folder, then BAM! it will only show worlds from that folder!

    I love this idea, no longer would I have to delete or remove worlds from the Minecraft files because it's getting way too messy.

    Minecraft really needs an update focusing mostly on improving the overall experience of things outside gameplay like the suggestion above and a better server system for example.

    Just had this idea as I was checking out seeds from chunkbase. I'd like to be able to tell which worlds I shouldn't "delete forever!" but as of now I just delete the ones named "New World"
