Dog beds

There should be dog beds in minecraft if you tame a wolf he will Automatically sleep in the dog bed at night when you sleep and if the dog dies he will respawn at the bed

    I gree but in the respawn part I don't 'cause you can have tons of dogs by taming/breeding them so giving for every single one of them does respawn is horibile from my view point but it could be a good NPT tag for all entities with{CanRespawn:[X,Y,Z]}

    I like the idea of cat/dog beds as decoration blocks, but I agree with PickledCamera24 and really don't think pets should be able to respawn - the player should be the only thing in MC that can do that

    Awesome idea.I love it.It would also be better together with a dog house.Dog house and dog beds are very important for a pet dog.

    If this gets added we need an update that let's you train your dogs, because Minecraft should let you do basically anything a normal person can do on their own without technology.

    This is a amazing idea! I always get scared about bringing my dog on a adventure because I am scared that my dog will die .

    We need a dog update.  We need dog armor, dog types, dog beds and dog AI improvements.

    Honestly i just want the dogs to be more interactive. Like maybe you can play fetch, or something. Anything. But no, you can make it sit, stand, walk, fight, and eat.

    its a great idea and all, but wolves shouldn't respawn at their beds.  Like, so villagers respawn in theirs?  I hope this gets added, however I'm not a fan of the respawn part, srry

    In line with this, dogs could curl up and sleep like foxes if presented with a woolen surface (wool blocks, carpet, beds) or hay blocks.

    I like the principle behind the idea, but just making this change by itself is OP. It would have to be balanced out by other changes, such as these:

    • Dogs can only breed one time ever, or can't be bred at all.
    • Dogs have a set lifespan.
    • Respawning a dog requires spending hard to obtain items.
    • Or, respawning a dog requires an increasing amount of levels.

    i feel these should be harder to make if the dog respawns, like getting a bed with a totem of undying so it only respawns the dog once otherwise its pretty overpowed.

    Bed+Bone for dog, bed+fish for cat, bed+egg for parrot, bed+Fence For horse, bed+hay bail for llama

    I really hope that this gets added to minecraft, it would be amazing to be able to respawn my dog after it dies.

    While I would love my pets to respawn I thinks that's just too overpowered, giving them the Totem of undying would be a better option, although expensive it would be more balanced

    or just a big revamp to pets all together, maybe have a certain key on your keyboard (or an inventory tab for console) that sends you to your pet control panel where you can rename pets, apply colours (which could give a better way to tell pets apart by changing collar and name tag colour) and set them to sit/stay. and maybe the ability to right click the bed to set which pet you want occupy that bed. only problem with this is it could be a bit op and not minecrafty enough.

    In order for dog beds not to be op and to tie in new mechanics you would need to attach to a dog bed a totem of undying. So for the dog bed you’d need wool, wood planks and a bone. The bone is there to attract the dog, the wool is there to make it comfortable and wood planks for structure. When the dog bed has been completed you’re dog will sleep in it at night. If you attach a totem of undying your dog will respawn there after death. However the totem will take damage. After your dog died 3 times the totem will be destroyed and a new one is needed.

    Pets being killed has always been a part of the drama in Let's Play series, but that's not to say this doesn't work. A pet could not respawn if killed by non-owner players- that would allow for the same murder mysteries without any of the stress of dogs jumping into lava out of absolutely nowhere.

    I think it would be a good decor block. If you were to design it right it could also be used as chair block and our pets could sleep in the chair. I think a pillow on a wooden slab would be the best design for this block.

    Maybe instead of respawning they would teleport there if their health is really low, or if player sends them to go back.

    Also they could teleport there if they get lost by player.
