Cool idea. Include a radius argument and coordinate option so you can suspend entities and players between gravity bubbles.

If you fell all the way without trying to catch yourself, you would eventually hit the world border, but it does sound awesome.

Hmm... sand, gravel, concrete powder, anvils, TNT, dragon eggs, and so on don't originally start as entities.  How would this be fixed?  This could offer gravity to specified blocks without having to set up commands to delete blocks and spawn falling blocks at the same time.

THIS is the best idee ever!

I like to use command blocks and I use them a lot in map making and this looks like it has a great potential

    What about

    /grav x1 y1 z1 x2 y2 z2 x3 y3 z3

    X1 y1 z1 direction and force like 0 -1 0 is normal but you can change it to be diagonal with 0 -1 -1 or twice as strong with 0 -2 0 or 0-grav with 0 0 0 or low grav with 0 -0.5 0.

X2 y2 z2 and x3 y3 z3 are the first and second selection points if you leave them blank it applies to the whole world or if you state an area then it only changes it in that area.

This might be a bit weird because you may have to change the direction of the players body to make a walk walking trick or mabye you always face upright. I personally think these ideas are a really good idea but I know (as a programmer myself that this is a challenging idea but i believe mojang are good programmers so i say if you're gonna do it GOOD LUCK!

I will be posting this as an idea myself but i will give you credit for the idea thanks!

There would need to be some sort of cut off distance for falling items, or else one could mess around and send something straight up, if it never despawns by some barrier, in the case of falling blocks it would just be there, forever

0-infinity should be 0-16939 or something similar because I doubt Minecraft could handle legitimate infinity. It would also be cool to have negative gravity

That is an...unusual thing to imagine. I think they should implement a game-rule for fall damage {true/false}. I can't see this working with fall damage going sideways or upside down...

    Imagine low gravity parkour though.

Actually the games dose have java's normal numeric limits, I think commands normally stop at the 32 bit interger limits, tho I see your point.

Imagine a space-like void dimension based off of this command! Great idea.

I would prefer it if it changed within a set area, sort of like how the /fill command works. The direction gravity pulls within that area would be set using an x, y, or z with a + or - sign. That way, maps where gravity pulls in different directions would be easier to make. If your idea was implemented in addition as a way for entities to ignore the rules set within those boundaries, that would be cool as well. I would also love it if the animation of the player changed with gravitational direction.

There is already a function for a entity to be flipped upside down when given a certain name, so an entity being flipped to correspond to a specific direction should just require reusing some of that code (well still with alot of bug fixes probably), if this was added I do think that would be phasable.

The there are mods that allow sideways gravity, and make the player turn sideways, so we know it’s possible! I think this is a very cool idea.

This would be so cool. Right now we have no way of telling the player how to move using the server because it's all done client side. This would be Super.
Maybe gravity on players with a tag or team and score.
