You can always buy it on one account and then host the world across lan to allow the other family to connect. That one main account would own the content whilst making it joinable by the others.

Sadly this doesn't allow you to play the game on each device separately but it's a solution to not buying the same pack 5 times and play together.

@ TauntingConch56 thank you for the feedback! However in my family's last play session I was using the Norse Mythology pack, but 2 of my kids were playing with me on their console they were still in the classic pack. If I select the "require other players to download mash-up pack" I would still have to purchase it again. Thank you again👍

Say it simply: I will buy Mash Up pack for playing togehter with my son. But I will not pay twice.

So the conclution is simple: No sharing with family from your side, no money from my side!

For me, the possibility to share content with the family it is a must that I will buy additional content!

Agree 100%. Not only did I lose all the skin packs I purchased on the 360, but now I have to buy content multiple times to share with my family. Outrageous. Please restore the old behavior.

I 100% AGREE! It's insane for the same household to have to buy the same content for each child's device when you are connected on a family account. I'm not buying anymore content for my children until this is resolved.

I agree I let my 4 children play on my Xbox and because I wasn't playing they had no access to the dlc I purchased under my gamertag

Wow... over the current sale, I've spent $20+ on DLC wanting to support development.  Now I just found out my child accounts in the same house can't access the DLC.  Needless to say, I am extremely dissatisfied.

Is the only workaround is letting everyone play on the parent account?

My kids and I play, I use my Windows 10 PC and they normally play on the three xbox one consoles in this house. I say that Microsoft / Mojang can track IP addresses and find out that all of these devices is within the same LAN network and make it to where someone signed in on this LAN network can use the same addons as the primary family account holder! I can't even buy the add ons for my almost 9 yr old son who loves to play with me on Minecraft!!!! I can't add money to his account as he is too young (apparently), so I can't even buy the packs for him on his account! Come on, work with us here!

I changed from Playstation to XBOX. We installed Minecraft an my wife took the DLC Key. We searched for the DLC all time. Now I found it. But... only my Wife has aceess zu the DLC? Why?

On Playstation I bought the DLCs and all my family / users on the Playstation had access to the DLC. I bought the game only one time for 4 Accounts. Why i have to buy the DLC 4 times?

The best: My wife doesn´t play this game. Only my kids and me. So the DLC is gone for nothing.

If Majong think, that is right to disapoint families... To take to much money... then we sell Minecraft. This is not worth the game. This price policy is not right. Why it work on Playstation fine and not on XBOX?

I was planning on buying 8800 coins for $49.99 and buying all of the 70% off and a few of the 30% off during the "Block Friday" sale. But since only one account of my family of 6 can use the DLC, I will just get one of the sale items and under the account of the child that desires it most. I wish the Minecraft store was like the Windows 10 store, and other app stores, where all the users of a device (my children) can benefit from the apps purchased by another user of the same device (me). Big bummer!!

I was looking at the Black Friday deals hand wondering how this works. My worst fears are confirmed Wallet safe will not spend a red-eyed sent on the store if that's the way Family Sharing works, ridiculous.

I just purchased the Black Friday Xbox One S Minecraft edition and got everything setup under my parent account. I was INCREDIBLY disappointed when I set up my children's accounts (who will be the main players of this Xbox) and discovered that they are not able to access the Minecraft Marketplace content that was installed under my account during setup. This makes no sense, as all other content (games, apps, movies, etc.) is accessible by everyone in our family...at the very least I should've been warned that the marketplace content would only be accessible by the user who installed it.

Had the same experience with my new XBoxOneS - redeemed all of the Minecraft add-ons that came bundled with the console and they are only usable on my account.  Disappointing for my kids.

I also just purchased and set up an xbox one s with the Minecraft bundle. I have two adults and two kids on one console. Minecraft game can be played by any of these family members when they logon to the console. But the 1) 1000 coins, 2) creator pack, and 3) starter pack are only visible to me when I log in since I redeemed them in my account. I was expecting that they would be shared across all the family members' accounts like the Minecraft game is.

I contacted Microsoft support to make sure I had redeemed the codes correctly, and was told that some content is not shareable and that the content publisher makes the decision on what is and is not shareable. They confirmed that the 1000 coins, creator and starter pack are not shareable, and gave me Mojang's support URL.

Dissapointed. And I agree with the others here, I'm not going to be buying these packs for all the other family members.

I bought a some packs, thinking it was family shareable... what a ripoff! I already bought the game 4 different times(java, windows, ps4, switch)! Why in the **** would texture packs not be shareable to a family trying to cross platform play together?! I already spent 120$ on all the games combined. I refuse to spend another cent on packs until this is resolved.

My kids are disappointed that daddy got the texture pack linked to his Microsoft account. It's a stupid process anyways, everyone should be able to play together off a single account. One account, 4 games, let them play!

I'm logging in just to add an additional voice about how insanely stupid Minecraft is about this. You might think you're going to make more money by forcing multiple purchases, but I'm not spending another cent on this (and wish I could return the one pack of mine coins I bought) until both kids can play on a single dlc purchase. Most people won't bother posting and will just stop spending money. Extremely disappointed!

This is crazy.  I just fell into this trap as well.  I set up a replacement xbox one s and all the minecraft content packs are associated with my account.... how the heck can I move them to his account?  I don't play minecraft!!!

I refuse to purchase anything from Minecraft or majong since majong stole my kids gift from them. If it said somewhere that these addons are not shareable it would be different but it doesn’t. I’m tempted to return the Xbox Minecraft edition and get a new one with new codes. Too bad they have resorted to stealing from the hand that feeds them and little children.

This should be shared across xbox live family stuff just like the rest of games are.  Not happy about this

Shocked that sharing between family members and users on the same console isn't allowed! When I buy a game for the console all members can access it, same should apply to DLC.

Will not buy more minecoins until this is fixed!

I just fell into the same trap.. Completely agree that one should be able to share content within the family.  This is a ripoff and a complete putoff.   Hope they change this soon.

I agree with all the other comments and observations.  I am considering getting some mine coins for my sons, but am reluctant to spend anything if the content can't be shared between devices.  I understand the need to make money from the content, but please acknowledge that there are plenty of people that will simply walk away and not spend anything given the current model.

Same issue most have been having here. Added all the codes under my parent account and now my kid cannot use them. Really only bought this thing for Minecraft and he’s had his Minecraft/Microsoft account for years. Although it would be nice to share across all accounts on the same system, if not that, at least give us the option to transfer those purchases to another one of our accounts.

Just got my kids a new Xbox One S Minecraft Edition for Christmas.  I set it up for them, registered all the codes under my account only to find that none of that Minecraft content is available under their accounts?!?  This is completely unacceptable.  I don't consider this a feature request but rather a support/bug issue!

As many of the others have noted, I purchased the XBox One S Black Friday deal for my kids.  They have child accounts for safety.  I installed the game and packs under my account and now they can play the game (the console is our "home" console) but all of the packs and add-ons are only available under my profile.  Why in the hell would a company make a product that cannot be shared within a FAMILY?!?!  At least across profiles on the "home" console where the content is installed.

I also have fallen under this trap. Setup the Xbox one minecraft edition with my profile first. Redeemed all the codes then added my kids under family. Now they can’t use all the packs!! Insane. They are disappointed as they can’t use the extra features or coins on their profiles. Please allow us to share or transfer the content!

I bought the Minecraft Master Collection pack with the DLC for my son for Christmas, but he cannot view the DLC content on the child account. Now I discovered that the DLC content is tied to the parent account that made the purchase, but logging in as a parent every time my son wants to play is simply not feasible. Parental controls and DLC content shouldn't be mutually exclusive. How can we transfer this DLC to the child account?

Totally agree with this Feature Request. I'd like to think that this is just an oversight by MS and not a cynical way to make more money whilst alienating its user base...
