Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Use this category to discuss released features that exist in both versions of the game but work differently. Please note that bugs are not parity issues and should be reported separately.

I've recently become deaf and don't play much anymore. It was really frustrating to get snuck up on by a creeper before, but now it's completely unavoidable for me. Why, in the year of our lord 2025, is there no basic accessibility like this?

As a hearing user, I heavily rely on sound to be able to play. It's almost unavoidable for me. If I'm in a place where I can't turn up my volume, then I simply play safely and build in my area/base.
With captions added, I could play with or without sound safely.

This is added to Bedrock now! Although subtitles in Bedrock do have some issues regarding missing or incorrect closed captions.
