    This would significantly improve the experience with ray tracing on if we were able to prevent some entities from unrendering when they go off screen (leading to their shadows mysteriously disappearing).

    That's right, blocks such as entities, chests, and signs are not visible when they are more than 4 chunks away from the observer, and grass and flowers are invisible when they are more than 8 chunks away.

    As it currently stands, I am covering a large portion of my world with wheat, and it irritates me to no end when I see empty farmland instead of the splendor of my wheat! Having this as a feature would really help with my grain troubles, and other issues less important than maximum wheatage. I would sacrifice some render distance for wheat that shows up as far as I can see in an instant!
