According to the changelog for the latest Minecraft snapshot 25w16a, “Using a firework rocket when flying with leashed entities will now break the leash connections.” I personally am happy with most other changes to leads in this snapshot, but this specific change causes some disappointment in the Minecraft community since using elytra with leads is a popular way to transport entities over long distances. Without being able to boost up with a rocket, transporting mobs using elytra is now a lot harder and more annoying. I believe this change should be reverted, and leads changed so that they will not break when a firework rocket is used, since Minecraft is a game all about creativity and a lot of advanced creations require transporting mobs long distances. Examples include the transportation of armadillos to build experience farms, or the transportation of elder guardians to get the “How did we get here” advancement. Transportation of entities is one of the most annoying aspects of building things, and I don’t believe it should be made any more time consuming. Thank you for considering my opinions.
