Setting simulation distance in realm

Not being able to set the simulation distance on the realm server makes the game unplayable and boring because when I enter the mine, 30 zombies spawn right next to me. Either we are allowed to set the simulation distance or the number of monsters spawning in the realms will be low, otherwise the game only increases stress.
