After the villager gets a lot of experience, it will reach “master” with very good trades. But if a master villager spends some time in a spesific place, it will get even better trades, obviously for higher prices. These exclusive trades will override previous equivalent trades (diamond -> netherite etc.) and will cost up to 2x more than the original trade. The specialities are usually hard to obtain and they are not stackable, so one master can only get one speciality. For example, master toolsmiths that spend 50 minecraft days in the nether can start selling expensive netherite tools. Or a toolsmith being near an enchanting table (enchanting table is within 10 blocks from the villager’s workstation and in eyesight) or that often meets a librarian (journeyman or higher) will specialize in enchanting, thus selling better enchanted tools. Specialities change slightly the looks of the villager. For example, Armorers have tanned from the nether or they have some netherrack red spots on their clothes. (Send more ideas in the comments) Specialities can also slightly change behavior, like villagers, that get nether specialities, go into the rain instead of getting out of it. The specialities will not vanish in any circumstance, even if the master exits the required area for specializing. BUT if the master exits the specializing area (such as the nether) before specializing, the progress will reset or pause the time for specialization.
