There are many websites out there that are able to publicly display Minecraft Java user information, both new and old information. This leads to accounts with rare capes or rare names (as in 3 characters long) being more visible to hackers and more appealing. Though migrating all accounts to Microsoft accounts did help the security immensely, there is still tons of user information available without user consent. I understand that the API is what allows this to work as well as thousands of mods to work. What you could do is update the EULA or whatever would effect this so that publically displaying Minecraft user information without their consent is illegal.
