Vibrant Visuals is a visual graphics upgrade that will transform the way players experience Minecraft. Initially releasing for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, it is our developer’s vision for what Minecraft looks like with improved visual elements such as directional lighting, volumetric fog, and more.

Its kinda hard their hopefully still optimizing it cause some next gen consoles r strugglin i was on a render distance of ~12 on xbox series s and it dropped the frames to 45 and 30 at rlly bad times. For series s which can run practicly all games at constant 60fps thats worrying

I think the most logical way to bring Vibrant Visuals to lower-end devices is to essentially create a “lite” version. Bringing every detail of Vibrant Visuals will simply not be possible for particularly low-end devices. To toss some numbers out, it takes ~1.3 TFLOPS to ~0.8 TFLOPS to run it, ~0.8 being the absolute minimum. To bring it, for example, to my PC which is only capable of ~0.4 TFLOPS, they would have to take the already minimum requirement and cut it in half. They stated in the release article “with the hope of bringing this graphics revamp (either fully or partially) to as many devices as possible” suggesting a “lite” “version” of sorts may already be in the works. They are also still testing more devices.

It is hard to technically elaborate any further simply because they haven’t released all of the minimum requirements for Vibrant Visuals, only vague guidelines. (In my case with my PC, they stated it requires being able to run Minecraft on DX12, which it is perfectly capable of doing, yet still is grayed out, meaning there are more requirements that are not yet specified, hence the TFLOPS gap.) Vibrant Visuals as a feature is also still young, and as stated in their 1.21.80 Bedrock changelog, they are constantly re-iterating and developing Vibrant Visuals. :D

I play on a device just before the least allowed for visuals. please, mojang. if people don't want it cause it's too laggy, they can just turn it off.

For consoles, mojang should add the option for the game to render at native 1080p when connected to a 1080p screen (or when the console resolution output is manually changed to 1080p even if the console is connected to a 4k screen). Currently, the ps5 version is always rendering at 4k, even when connected to a 1080p monitor, which is why performance is very unstable (because 4k is very demanding on the hardware). By changing the rendered resolution to 1080p, the performance should improve significantly, resulting in more people being able to enjoy Vibrant Visuals at a stable 60 fps on their devices.

So far very not impressed with vibrant visuals, so much worse looking than existing shaders on java and runs soo much worse than existing java shaders. I think they should call it off, delay it or something its aweful to look at right now.

yes i agree with this idea. i think they should just optimise it/change it for different devices, like limit volumetric fog or shadow quality on switch. honestly i dont think it will run at all on amazon fire - i own one and the lag is insane

Vibrant Visuals could never run on Nintendo Switch...

    Nintendo Switch 2?

To run it on Nintendo Switch, they would have to HIGHLY optimize it, or not allow it at all.

At least give Switch 2 a chance. Switch 2 has a good chance of running it at a decent performance level.

I agree with this, I was very disappointed to update my kindle fire today just to find out vibrant visuals isn't supported. This could easily be implemented by just optimizing it for smaller devices, it shouldn't be that hard. They hyped this up so much over the past months, just for it to not even work for some people.

Lumière trop saturée, couleur brouillard trop rouge dénature les autres couleurs, eau trop transparente difficile à visualiserOption pour rêve

Merci de me mettre une option paramétrage couleur origine, sans brouillard rouge qui pourrit toutes les textures,y compris suturation visuel horrible qui me pique la retine

    Not on all eligible machines.

My Asus Zephyrus with its RTX3060 card has it. My Asus TUF F-15 (a slightly newer machine) with its RTX4060 card doesn't. They're both W11 machines.

I updated the nVidia drivers on both today. I'd set the latter to the default render distance, but it got bumped up to the max. render distance (again) after the update, and the Vibrant Visuals option is still greyed out. Even reducing the render distance doesn't enable the option.

On both device the game should switch to the nVidia GPU. I'd expect the Direct X version to be the same on both, but will have to check this later.

I can think of one or two other things (e.g. an external monitor), but this will also need testing when I'm home.

YES! I was looking forward to this update for weeks just to log into minecraft on my kindle and find I cannot enable it. Bedrock Edition players generally use weaker devices, such as switches or kindles, and Vibrant Visuals is made specifically for Bedrock Edition. PLEASE add Vibrant Visuals to more devices! This could be done by modifing the visuals slightly or having it run at a slightly lower frame rate.
