Limit Locator Bar Distance or Allow Players to Opt Out

The locator bar can disrupt gameplay for PvP or SMP servers by removing base privacy. Without the locator bar, the task of finding someone's base can take days, weeks, or even months, but the locator bar lessens the challenge immensely. Although server operators do have the option to turn it off, not many will pay attention to the option. I think it's a great quality of life feature for casual players, but it would be even better if it was opt-in on the player side. The current methods of masking yourself from the locator bar are too unreliable to do for long periods of time. Therefore, an opt-in system would be great. As an example: you can make players hold a compass if you want to be seen on the locator bar. Alternatively, you can limit the radius of the locator bar, so players only have to make distance to not be seen on it.
