Lots of people are not quite happy about the newly added player locator bar that replaces the XP bar, while some do enjoy this new feature.
One problem that this new addition has is that it destroys the safety and privacy of your friends. Would you want to have someone knowing your location 24/7? Would you want someone constantly griefing you everywhere you go? Those are the main points of the safety concern.
To fix this, only the operator of the world should be able to use this feature, with the operator's option to disable it as well. This prevents this feature from falling into the wrong hands. Additionally, the operator should be able to enable the player locator bar for other players as well.
Another problem with the new feature is the replacement of the XP bar. Knowing your level and amount of experience is highly crucial. Without the feature displayed constantly, How would we able to track our XP on the go? players might be planning something involving their XP, for general curiosity, and most importantly, for better management. To fix this, maybe let the XP bar be and put the player location bar somewhere else. Maybe above or below the XP bar, shown in the inventory or menu, or the top of the screen.
An alternative could be displaying the player location bar while holding a new item, or a current item that exists in the game. This can tackle both of the problems and does not disrupt the nature of the game. Besides, who doesn't love a new item with a useful purpose?
