Let’s talk about the new Bedrock flat world presets!

We are excited to announce the addition of flat world presets to Bedrock, edging us closer to parity with Java edition. You can now select from some very special presets for your completely flat world:

  • Classic Flat
  • Tunnelers' Dream
  • Water World
  • Overworld
  • Snowy Kingdom
  • Bottomless Pit
  • Desert
  • Redstone Ready


There's still some things to come, like The Void preset, and we want to develop the future of flat worlds together with you, the community! We’d love to hear your thoughts on this, let us know in the comments — what do you think?

    If your going to add customization presets there shall be no reason to why you can't add the layer thing where you can choose what layer you want

    Remember on the Xbox 360 Minecraft. Super flat worlds were able to be customized. Can you just add that back? 

    For example, today Minecraft you start on -64y add up to 319y. You can add any blocks for your layers. Like water, lave, grass, etc.

    Would be cool if you can change the layers blocks and layer hight like in legacy Console edition and the none preset in bedrock can help for minigames

    Maybe make a way for the superflat world to have naturally generated structures, and maybe set the flat world to a certain biome (1 or multiple biomes). This can go with normal worlds too and maybe add more world types similar to Java Edition such as amplified or the floating islands world. Maybe u can also make the flat world be in different dimensions instead of just an overworld superflat world.

    I think that adding the old layers from 1.8 is cool, but I think adding customizable layers will improve the current ratings in the audience's enjoyability of the game.

    It's great, but,

    Why not make it like Java's? Let us add structures!

    Like everyone else, I'd also like custom flat worlds.

    Please add customizable layers like in legacy edition! And let us have structures generate as well so people can do survival challenges. Both of these features were loved and still are loved by the community!

    you should add a feature to generate villages, just like how in the java edition of the game you can have villages in your superflat world, it might not seen useful but it would help with parity

    Customizable superflats were one of my favorite things about the old legacy editions, I played on superflats even more than normal terrain generation. Adding presets is an amazing step in the right direction, but allowing custom superflats would be a great boon to bedrock (and to parity).

    I'm genuinely impressed with these new flat world presets! Probably one of the few changes that I will end up actually liking.
